I have shifted away from being a super analytical, confident risk taker who relied on the analytical skills housed in my brain's left hemisphere. Instead I experienced a fascinating and pleasurable shift in my perspective. When my left hemisphere shut down, my right hemisphere became dominant. Now, after many months of healing, I am much more mellow and secure in my understanding of who I am and what I want to accomplish with the finite time I have.

"In the first months of the intifada, the majority of child victims were killed as a result of the unlawful and excessive use of lethal force in response to demonstrations and stone-throwing incidents, when the lives of Israeli soldiers were not at risk. In 2006 the majority were those children killed when Israeli forces randomly opened fire, or shelled or bombarded residential neighborhoods in Palestinian towns and villages. Most of these children were killed when there was no exchange of fire and the lives of the soldiers were not at risk."

غزة – المركز الفلسطيني للإعلام
هاتف رئيس الوزراء الفلسطيني إسماعيل هنية، اليوم السبت (7/6)، الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد، رئيس القمة العربية في دورتها الحالية، حيث وضعه في صورة التطورات السياسية الأخيرة، مؤكداً على الحاجة إلى الدعم العربي لانطلاق مشروع الحوار الفلسطيني- الفلسطيني والوصول إلى المصالحة الوطنية.
وقال بيان صادر عن مكتب رئيس الوزراء، تلقى "المركز الفلسطيني للإعلام" نسخة منه، إن الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد أكد على أن المصالحة الفلسطينية "أولوية بالنسبة للقمة"، وبالنسبة له شخصياً، مشيراً إلى أنه سيجري اتصالاً هاتفياً مع رئيس السلطة محمود عباس حول الموضوع.
وطالب رئيس الحكومة الفلسطينية من "الأشقاء" العرب بتحرك مؤسسة القمة حول الموضوع والعمل على تحقيق المصالحة الوطنية الفلسطينية.
وكان هنية قد أجرى، اليوم السبت (7/6)، اتصالاً هاتفياً مع وزير المخابرات المصرية عمر سليمان، وبحث معه شؤون الحوار في الساحة الفلسطينية والرعاية العربية لجهود الحوار هذه، علاوة على مسألة التهدئة، وقضية معبر رفح.
ونقل مراسل "المركز الفلسطيني للإعلام" في غزة، أنّ هنية بحث مع سليمان ثلاث نقاط؛ الأولى أجواء الحوار السائدة حالياً في الساحة الفلسطينية وطرق تفعيلها وأهمية الرعاية العربية والاحتضان المصري للحوار، والنقطة الثانية آخر تطوّرات الاتصالات فيما يتعلق بالتهدئة، أما النقطة الثالثة فتمثلت في ضرورة التخفيف عن المواطنين فيما يتعلق بمعبر رفح.
